Esztergom
The Castle Museum is a branch of the Hungarian National Museum, located at the southern point of the bastion system of Esztergom Castle, at Szent István tér 1. It presents the preserved rooms of the excavated royal palace, while the exhibition in the palace halls tells the history of Esztergom Castle.

The Bálint Balassa Museum of the Hungarian National Museum is more than just an exhibition space welcoming visitors. As one of the county’s museums with the largest collection areas, its mission is the research, study, processing and preserving of the area’s traditions and heritage, besides playing a highly important role in Esztergom’s cultural life.

The summer house of Mihály Babits, a great figure of 20th century Hungarian literature, in Esztergom, which was the inspiration for nearly half a hundred of his poems. The National Inspectorate for Monuments and Sites declared the house protected, then the Bálint Balassa Museum (today the Bálint Balassa Museum of the National Museum of Monuments and Sites) was established and on 6 August 1961 Babits House was opened as the first Mihály Babits memorial site and museum open to the public and literature lovers.
